A new play by Danny Mitarotondo
Directed by Daniel Darwin
Every other Tuesday at
TheaterLab
Dates: June 16 & 30 : July 14 & 28 : August 11 & 25
We Carry On is at once the story of two former lovers meeting after years of separation and an exploration of how one can recreate themselves amidst our modern conditions of living. Through this seemingly small and isolated scene, We Carry On addresses some of the largest and most essential issues to our generation. Our modern urban life style fosters a disjointed relationship between the individual and the humanity, or not, around them; the creative team of We Carry On seeks to explore our generation's relationship with this condition and understand where we find connection in a media inundated world that overwhelmingly tells us to disengage.
Workshop Mission Statement:
After our two kick-off performances on June 6th and 7th, we will be workshopping the show with a performance at Theaterlab every Tuesday at 8pm throughout the summer. Because audience reception is so important to the mission of our work, we will be integrating post-show talk-backs, audience questionaires, and online blogging forums into our weekly explorations of this piece. Our process is one in which we agree to disagree as often as possible in a constructive way. In that spirit, this is our whole-hearted invitation to you to be an active participant in our artistic and intellectual process! Through this workshop and through your feedback we seek to identify the most essential and relevant aspects of this play, which we believe has the power to move an audience to tears, to laughter, and ultimately to some catharsis and revelation about what it is to be living right now. We look forward to seeing you at our performances and anxiously await your reactions!
Tickets are $15, $10 for students
